A couple photo wall is one of the most personal home décor projects you can take on together. Unlike framed photos or canvas prints, a polaroid wall stays flexible — you can add new prints after every trip or milestone without redesigning the whole thing.
How many prints do you need?
For a standard bedroom feature wall (roughly 150 cm wide), plan for 20–30 prints. That is enough to fill the space without it feeling cluttered. If you are doing a full living room accent wall, you might go up to 40–50 prints. Prints start from ₹7/print — order as many as your layout needs.
Hanging your prints
Jute rope and wooden clips (available at any craft store) are the most flexible mounting tools for a couple photo wall. Two metres of rope gives you roughly three horizontal lines at 60 cm each once you account for side margins — enough for 24–30 prints in a 3-row grid. Photo-safe glue dots work well for prints mounted directly on the wall.
Choosing your photos
Mix candid moments with the more polished ones. Candid shots — laughing, cooking together, caught off-guard — often look better as polaroids than posed portraits because the retro aesthetic suits unguarded expressions. Include at least one print per year of your relationship, one from your first trip together, and one that captures a completely ordinary Tuesday — those mundane everyday shots become the most treasured ones over time.
Caption tips
Use the polaroid border area to add short captions. Keep them under 20 characters so they are readable at wall distance. Dates work well: "Dec 2022, Goa". Inside jokes or single words also work — "finally" above the engagement photo, for example. Avoid full sentences in captions; they become too small to read on a 3×4 print.
Placement and height
The centre of your photo wall should sit at eye level — typically 155–165 cm from the floor for most people. If you are hanging rows, start your top rope at 175 cm and your bottom rope at 125 cm for a 3-row display. For heart and freeform layouts, stand back 3 metres and mark the centre point before placing any prints.
Care and longevity
Our 300 GSM matte prints do not curl or fade quickly, but direct strong sunlight over months will gradually affect any print. Position the wall away from windows that get direct afternoon sun. Indoors, away from humidity (so not directly above a bathroom doorway), the prints will look sharp for years.
